If you were hoping for a Triumph Spitfire, you will not find one in our current selection. This small British sports car was built from the early 1960s until 1980 and was styled by the Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti. One distinctive detail is the bonnet, which tilts forward in one piece together with the wings. It is an open two-seater with a fabric roof, low and compact, with a sporty but friendly look.
As a wedding car, the Spitfire suits a couple who want to keep things small and personal. Driving to the ceremony together in an open car creates a relaxed, cheerful mood, and it looks playful in photos. Space is limited, though: with two people on board the car is full, and a full-skirted dress is difficult to fit into the narrow cabin.
The Mini Cooper is a British classic with the same compact size and often an open roof, and it offers more room for passengers. If you are looking for an open sports car from the same era with a slightly more elegant shape, take a look at the Porsche 356, one of the most popular classic wedding cars.
All cars with a roof that opens, from small roadsters to spacious four-seaters, can be found under convertibles. With a small open classic, agree in advance how the car will get to your venue, because some rental companies prefer to bring it on a trailer rather than drive it a long distance.
