With a wedding car, luxury is more than an expensive brand. It is about finish, comfort and the way a car presents itself. In a classic luxury car you see it in the wood, the leather and the quiet, smooth ride. In a modern luxury car it shows in the quality of the interior, the air conditioning, the calm inside the cabin and a powerful engine that pulls away effortlessly.
For a bridal couple, luxury mostly means arriving without a worry. Enough room for the dress, a pleasant temperature and a car that looks immaculate at every stop. Then there is the presence. A luxury car outside the town hall or the reception venue shows that the day is special.
Luxury wedding cars can roughly be divided into three styles: classic and stately, Italian and sporty, or modern and German. Each style suits a different kind of wedding.
A Rolls-Royce wedding car is the textbook example of classic luxury. A spacious back seat, a calm ride and a stately shape that suits a church, castle or country estate. It is the choice for a formal wedding with a classic feel.
The Maserati wedding cars combine a luxurious interior with a sporty character, from an open GranCabrio to a four-door saloon. Ferrari stands more for pure speed, but has an equally exclusive presence.
The Audi R8 is a low sports car with a refined interior. The Mercedes-Benz G63 shows that luxury can be rugged too: an angular off-roader with a richly appointed interior. Porsche, the modern Ford Mustang and the Dodge Challenger are often found in this group as well.
A luxury wedding car also calls for a fitting setting. A castle, a country estate, a historic hotel or a modern venue with lots of glass shows the car off best. Plan a moment on your route when the car is standing still with space around it, so the photographer can capture the whole car. A driveway or a courtyard is ideal for this.
Think about the timing of the day too. Exclusive cars are often hired per half day, so decide in advance which moments matter most: arriving at the ceremony, the photo shoot or the journey to the reception. That way you use the car where it adds the most.
First decide what matters most to you: space, comfort or presence. A two-seater sports car is spectacular, but offers little room for a full dress. A large saloon or off-roader is roomier, but less sporty. The difference between classic and modern also plays a part: a modern car has air conditioning and reliable technology, while a classic has more character.
