Would you like to take the wheel of this iconic Porsche Speedster yourself? You can! You can hire this unique 356 as your wedding car, or use it for corporate events, rallies and touring drives. It is an experience you will never forget. The warm grey colour is very unusual for a Porsche and is slightly reminiscent of the days of James Bond. The Porsche Speedster is rented out from Elburg, Gelderland. If you wish, we can arrange transport to and from your location ourselves. And of course, you can drive this gorgeous Porsche yourself (self-drive)!
The Porsche 356 was Porsche's first production car and set the tone for the company's distinctive, innovative approach to light, nimble, rear-wheel-drive sports cars. It laid the foundation for Porsche's reputation as a maker of high-quality sports cars. The 356 won countless victories in prestigious races and rallies, such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Mille Miglia and the Carrera Panamericana, strengthening Porsche's image as a manufacturer of reliable, fast sports cars.
In 1954 the Porsche Speedster made its grand entrance as a variant of the legendary 356. This lightweight, open-top sports car was designed specifically for true racers and keen drivers, with a lowered windscreen that took the pure driving pleasure to a new level. The interior was spartan and minimalist, but that only made the Speedster all the more appealing, especially in the United States.
The 356 was more than just a car: it was a combination of everyday road car and racing car, a mix that caused a real sensation in the United States. The 356 Speedster, with its lowered windscreen and simple interior, was every racer's dream. With a 1.6-litre flat-four engine producing 60 hp, a weight of just 795 kg and a top speed of 160 km/h, this car was a genuine weapon on the circuit.
