Morris was one of the great British car makes of the last century. Its best-known model is the Morris Minor, built from the late 1940s to the early 1970s and designed by Alec Issigonis, the man who later drew the Mini as well. The Minor came as a saloon, as an open tourer and as the Traveller: an estate car with a timber frame at the back. In 1952 Morris merged with Austin to form a large British car group.
As a wedding car, a Morris Minor stands for simplicity and cosiness. Its rounded shapes and relaxed driving style suit a small wedding, a garden party or an afternoon tea with an English feel. It is a small car, often with only two doors, so a large dress can be a squeeze. On a sunny day, the open-topped tourer is the most photogenic.
In photos, a Morris Minor looks best in a setting that matches its character: a village street, a garden full of flowers or a small old railway station.
