The Cadillac Eldorado is not online at the moment, which is a shame if you love a grand American gesture. The Eldorado began in the early 1950s as Cadillac's exclusive flagship, often as a convertible. Later generations became luxury coupés, and from the 1970s the convertible made a return for a while. In every form, an Eldorado is long, low and covered in chrome.
As a wedding car, an open Eldorado makes a statement. You sit visibly and comfortably, with your dress spread across a wide bench seat, and the photographer has plenty to work with. The flip side: a car like this is big, and a convertible from that era has no air conditioning and little protection against a sudden shower. So plan a dry fallback, such as a roof that can be closed in good time or a covered spot for the photos. With a coupé that is not an issue, but the bride gets in through two long doors, which takes some practice with a train.
For an open American car, the Ford Mustang is the most obvious alternative: both classic and modern convertibles are available. If you want the length and chrome of a big 1950s land yacht, look at the Buick Roadmaster.
If what you really want is an open roof, whatever the make, take a look at all convertibles as wedding cars. The selection changes as rental companies add cars; if an Eldorado comes online later, it will appear here.
