There is currently no BMW 3 Series on the site. Since the 1970s, the 3 Series has been BMW's compact sports saloon, and the convertibles from the 1980s and 1990s are especially popular with enthusiasts. A well-maintained example from that era still feels young enough to drive with confidence, and old enough to look special in your wedding photos.
As a wedding car, the 3 Series has a few clear points to consider. It is compact, which is handy in a narrow city centre or on a tight driveway. The convertible has four seats, but the back seat is limited; there is enough room for the couple themselves if you sit in the front or together in the back. In the two-door versions, the bride gets into the back by way of a front seat that tips forward. With a dress with a lot of volume, a four-door model or a convertible with the roof down is easier.
If you are looking for an open-top youngtimer from the same era, the Volkswagen Golf comes closest, with convertibles from the 1980s and early 1990s. If you would rather have a classic German saloon, the Mercedes-Benz W123 is a good choice: solid, spacious and with a friendly shape.
If an open roof is what matters most, take a look at all the convertibles as wedding cars. Classic and modern convertibles from different brands are listed side by side there. Rental companies add cars regularly, so a BMW 3 Series may still appear here later.
