An electric Tesla as your wedding car
Tesla is an American brand that builds fully electric cars. The Model S is a long, sleek saloon, the Model X is a larger SUV with rear doors that swing upwards, and the Model Y is a more compact SUV. What they share: a quiet, smooth ride, a minimalist interior with a large screen and no exhaust fumes when you set off.
For couples who want a modern, sustainable look, that is a strong argument. With a Model X, the upward-opening rear doors also make for a lovely photo moment, although you will need space above the car for that. Plan your route with the range in mind: between the ceremony, the photo shoot and the party, you often drive more than expected. The rental company knows how far the car can go and whether it needs charging along the way.
A Tesla is also spacious: in a Model S or X in particular, the bride has plenty of room in the back for a full dress. Thanks to the flat floor without a central tunnel, the train can lie comfortably. The sleek white or black finish suits a modern or industrial wedding venue, and a carefully planned photo shoot in the city.

Is an electric wedding car suitable for a long wedding day?
Usually yes, as long as the planning works. Add up all the journeys: pick-up, ceremony, photo location, reception and, if needed, the return trip. Discuss that total distance with the rental company, so the car sets off fully charged and there is no need for a charging stop at an awkward moment. On a short route, the range hardly matters at all.
What are the falcon wing doors on a Tesla Model X?
The Model X has rear doors that are hinged at the top and swing upwards. This creates a large opening, so the bride can step in standing upright. It makes a striking sight in photos. Do keep an eye on the space above, though: under a low canopy or between branches, the doors cannot open fully.
