The 918 Spyder: a rare hypercar

The Porsche 918 Spyder is not currently in our selection, which is hardly surprising. It is one of the most exclusive cars Porsche has ever made: an open two-seater built in a small, limited run in the mid-2010s. It combines a petrol engine with electric motors, and the roof panels can be removed, so you can drive with the top down.

As a wedding car, a 918 is more of a dream than a practical choice. It is very low, it seats only two people and there is barely any room for a dress. On the other hand, every car enthusiast among your guests will recognise it straight away. Anyone looking for a car like this mainly wants a spectacular arrival.

Sporty wedding cars you can hire

For a Porsche that you can actually hire, the Porsche 911 is the best-known choice: recognisable, fast, and available in both classic and modern versions. The Porsche page also lists open-top models, from the 356 to the Boxster.

If you would like more of a supercar feel, take a look at the Ferrari 488 or the Audi R8. Both have the engine behind the seats and a low, wide stance.

With a sports car, agree clearly who will be driving, what the route is and whether a second car is needed for the witnesses. Also let the rental company know if your venue has a gravel path or a steep driveway, as a low car cannot always get over these.
