A Ford Thunderbird is currently not listed by any rental company on the site. The Thunderbird arrived in 1955 as a stylish two-seater, Ford's answer to the sporty open-top cars of the time. From the late 1950s it became a larger four-seater, and the name continued for several decades. In the early 2000s a modern two-seater appeared with a retro design that recalled the first model.
The early Thunderbird in particular is a sought-after wedding car. It has the chrome, the pastel colours and the rounded shapes of the 1950s, and as a convertible with the roof down you will be nicely on show. It is a two-seater, though: room for the driver and one passenger. If only one of you is being driven, that works well; with a dress with plenty of volume, it is a matter of trying it out. The later four-seaters are roomier and suit anyone wanting more comfort. With the classic models, expect simple technology without air conditioning.
