Ferrari California: an open-top Ferrari for your wedding day

At the moment, no rental company has a Ferrari California listed on the site. The modern California appeared in the late 2000s and was a striking Ferrari: the engine sits at the front and it has a folding metal roof, so it turns from coupé to convertible in a matter of seconds. The name is older, referring to the classic 250 GT California of the 1950s, one of the best-known Ferraris ever made.

As a wedding car, the California has a few advantages over other Ferraris. With the roof down you are clearly visible, and with the roof up you stay dry and enjoy a quiet ride. There are small rear seats, but for the couple the front is what matters: the driver and one passenger. A bride in a full dress may find it a little tight, as the car is low and the step in is deep. For a slim-fitting or shorter dress it is no problem, and in photos a red Ferrari in front of a historic building is hard to beat.

Ferraris and sporty convertibles that are online

Within the brand you will find the Ferrari 488, a sportier Ferrari with a mid-mounted engine. If you are looking for an open Italian car with more space, take a look at the Maserati GranCabrio, a four-seater convertible.

If you would like to see more options, browse the sporty wedding cars, from Porsche to Audi. The selection changes regularly; as soon as a California is added, you will see it here.

Frequently asked questions

Will a wedding dress fit in a Ferrari?
A Ferrari is low and the seats sit deep, so a dress with a hooped skirt or lots of tulle will be tricky. A fitted, flowing or short dress fits perfectly well. In a convertible with the roof down, getting in is a little easier. Many couples choose the Ferrari for the photo shoot or the drive to the party, and a roomier car for the ceremony.
What is the difference between the classic and the modern Ferrari California?
The classic 250 GT California is a rare open-top sports car from the 1950s. The modern California dates from the late 2000s and has a folding metal roof and small rear seats. Anyone looking for a California as a wedding car in the Netherlands almost always means the modern version, with modern technology and comfort.
How do you plan the route with a sports car?
A low sports car does not like high speed bumps, poor country roads and gravel tracks. Ask the rental company to check the route and the driveway to the venue in advance. A stretch along a dyke or a winding road outside town looks great on the video. Keep the pace relaxed on the wedding day itself, for the sake of your hair too.
Why isn't the Ferrari California listed on the site?
On Trouwautohurenonline.nl, rental companies list their own cars, and at the moment nobody offers a California. There are other Ferraris and sporty convertibles available, though. Rental companies add cars regularly, so feel free to check this page again later.
