The Citroën Traction Avant, or simply the Traction, is not on the site at the moment. Citroën built it from the mid-1930s to the mid-1950s. The name refers to its front-wheel drive, which was a real innovation at the time. With its low build, separate headlamps, large wings and running boards, it has the silhouette many people know from films and series set in France between the 1930s and the 1950s.
As a wedding car, the Traction has a distinct atmosphere: stylish, slightly mysterious and instantly recognisable. It suits a wedding with a vintage theme, a 1930s dress or a party at an old country estate. There are four-door saloons, which makes getting in easier for the bride. Do bear the car's age in mind: the technology is simple, there is no air conditioning and the pace is slower than in a car from the 1960s. A short, relaxed route is therefore the most enjoyable.
For the classic lines of the early 1950s, the Bentley MK VI is a strong choice, with its large wings and upright grille. If you would like to stay with Citroën, look at the Citroën 2CV, the cheerful French people's car that also appeared shortly after the war.
For more choice, take a look at the classic cars as wedding cars, from British luxury cars to American land yachts. The selection changes: if a Traction comes online later, it will appear here.
