Getting married in Belgian Limburg: Haspengouw, Kempen and Maasland

Limburg is a province of quiet regions and short distances between village and town. In the south lies Haspengouw, the fruit-growing region around Sint-Truiden and Tongeren, with orchards, rolling fields and square farmsteads. Tongeren calls itself the oldest town in Belgium and has a historic centre that works well for a quick photo stop. In the middle lies Hasselt, with its lively town centre, and in the north and east the Kempen begins, with pine forests, heathland and the Nationaal Park Hoge Kempen.

The former mining sites are also typical of Limburg. In Genk, C-mine has been transformed into a venue for culture and events, and the headframes and slag heaps give wedding photos a rugged, industrial backdrop.
